internet explorer 11 - Security prompt about Microsoft Silverlight in IE11 -
i working on sharepoint 2010 site. testing site behaviour on ie 11.
when log on site getting security prompt allowing 'npctrl.dll' 'microsoft silverlight' add-on file. message appears on every page. causing bad user experience.
when allowed npctrl.dll on 1 of pages, showed me next security prompt following message: this webpage wants run 'microsoft silverlight' isn't compatible internet explorer's enhanced security features.
i read somewhere prompt coming due enabled enhanced protected mode in ie11 browser.
please let me know if can solved work-arounds.
thanks in advance. appreciated.
silverlight legacy plugin no longer actively developed. consequence, not support running inside enhanced protected mode's appcontainers. epm security feature first introduced in ie10 , enabled default in desktop ie11.
microsoft has indicated they're "looking at" possibly updating silverlight work in epm given team dissolved years ago, wouldn't hold breath.
the simplest workaround issue place sites in question in internet explorer's trusted zone, runs outside of epm.
the long-term workaround issue migrate away silverlight in browser; either replace site app runs outside browser, or move html5.
