i using shape5.com corporate response joomla template , been asked change behavior of menu buttons, mouse on button background highlights, clickable. way works now, have move mouse further within menu's title changes cursor pointer hand clickable. if user clicks on before changes hand, doesn't because click isn't active yet. i've been asked change moment has highlighted background menu clickable. here demo of web page: http://www.shape5.com/demo/corporate_response/

i'm not sure how proceed on this. can controlled css? or controlled javascript? when mouse moved within surround area of menu button , highlighted background changes, function of javascript? or css?

if it's in javascript, how go making change understand how works, use pixels define image map of sorts? thanks!
