internationalization - hypothetical: how would you implement bidirectional language support in Sublime text editor, and what features would you like it to have? -

maybe question open-ended , kill --- however:

i building systems (web apps , native) requiring multiple language support, including rtl languages arabic , hebrew. have no need able program in languages, writing content must.

there difficult choices make think in implementation, because think @ level (i don't know it's why i'm asking) text file needs have consistent direction of string flow, when read , compose these files need view these elements character order reversed in order them sensible.

(open ended , non-constructive? i'm hoping construct solution.)

i fail see connection sublimetext.

you need rtl support, use pre-made component can handle it. or start library can support , heavy-lifting (for instance uniscribe, http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd374091%28v=vs.85%29.aspx, or harfbuzz, http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/software/harfbuzz/)

adding means lot of work (sublimetext fails miserably @ it, don't think tries).

to idea have deal with, take @ unicode bidirectional algorithm (http://www.unicode.org/reports/tr9/)
